What to Expect
O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! Psalms 95:6
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?
When you arrive at a Faith Lutheran worship service, you will enter into the gathering space. You'll be greeted by a friendly smile from one of our greeters. You can help yourself to a warm cup of coffee made with Faith Lutheran's exclusive "Armor Up" beans, roasted locally by Reality Roasters. You are invited to enjoy fellowship or enter into the worship space to prepare your heart and mind for worship.
WHAT IS SERVICE LIKE?
We strive to “worship in Spirit and in Truth.” In a sermon given by Martin Luther at a new “mission” congregation in the town of Torgau, he preached, “Nothing else may ever happen in this new house except that our dear Lord Himself may speak to us through His Holy Word and we respond to Him through prayer and praise.” At Faith, these are the foundations of our worship--God's Word, prayer and praise. Luther also had a great love for music referring to it as the language of the heart and soul. He stated, “I place music next to the Word of God and give it the highest praise.” At Faith, you can expect energetic praise and worship, consisting of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs led by our talented worship band. We then transition into a time of teaching, where you will hear the Word of God and be both encouraged and challenged by Scripture-based message. After the message, we take an offering, but as our guest you are not expected to give an offering. We also join together in confessing our sins and remembering God's forgiveness offered in His Son, Jesus, through receiving communion on the first and third Sundays of the month. We close our worships with a brief time to respond to God in worship and prayer.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
While children are always welcomed and encouraged to worship with families, we have a fully stocked nursery available for families. To help engage kids, we also provide activity bags by the worship space doors. Before the sermon, we invite all kids forward to hear a message just for them. During the school year, we also offer Sunday School classes after worship. See the children's page for more info.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
We are a "come-as-you-are" kind of church. Some folks dress up, many wear jeans, and others fall in between. We aren't concerned with how "put together" you may or may not look. So, don't worry about it and just come as you are, both on the outside and the inside.
